Rules and Regulations

Section I - Purpose and Enforcement
Purpose The purpose of the rules and regulations is to assure safe and sanitary operation of the pool facilities for the benefit and protection of all. Your cooperation in abiding by the following conditions and cautioning your children to be familiar with and observe all rules and regulations is sincerely appreciated.
Enforcement The enforcement of the rules and regulations will be under the supervision of the Pool Manager based on delegated authority of the Board of Directors and will be carried out by the Pool Manager and/or persons on the operational staff. The staff will caution offenders, and will take action as necessary with anyone willfully violating the rules. Actions could include temporary suspension from use of pool facilities. Appeals may be made to the Pool Manager for any actions taken by the staff.
Suspension Suspension without a hearing may be ordered for up to three (3) days. A written report on such suspensions, containing reasons therefor, will be submitted to the President within 24 hours. A copy of the report will be furnished to a senior member of the family. The President or the Chairman of the Pools and Grounds Committee may vacate such suspension. The Board of Directors may make suspension for longer periods on recommendation of the Pool and Grounds Committee Chairman or on the request of the Pool manager.
Section II - Use of Association Facilities
All members and guests shall use the Association facilities, including playground equipment, at their own risk. The Association assumes no responsibility for any accident or injury occurring on Association property. Any valuables are brought at the member's or guest's own risk. The Association is not responsible for loss or damages to personal property, including bicycles and automobiles on the Association property. All injuries occurring on the premises must be reported immediately to the Pool Manager or the Assistant Pool Manager.
Section III - Admission
Members Members will be admitted by presentation of individual membership cards at the desk, announcing their name to the desk attendant. The attendant will verify the cards and names by checking the membership book, and return cards to the member(s). Absence of cards will be grounds for non-admittance. Children under nine years old must be accompanied by a person 14 years or older.
Guests Admission Procedure Guests under eighteen (18) years of age must be accompanied by a member over the age of eighteen. A member 14 to eighteen can bring in a guest only if the guest is over 18 (i.e. Grandmother or Nanny, etc.). Members must be at least 10 years old to be left alone.
Fee Guest fees will be posted annually by the bulletin board. Guest fees must be paid by check at the desk upon arrival. No cash will be accepted. Children under 3 years old and non-swimming guests will not be subject to a guest fee.
Conduct Guests are subject to the same rules and regulations as members and are subject to suspension or removal for willful violations. Members will be held responsible for all actions of their guests.
Abuse of Guest Privileges Members found abusing guest privileges are subject to suspension.
Section IV - General Safety Rules
A Running is not allowed on the pool deck.
B No glass containers of any type are permitted on pool property.
C The transportation to and consumption upon the premises of alcoholic beverages of any kind are prohibited.
D All persons under 16 years of age must observe a 15-minute rest period between quarter of the hour. Children under 4 years are allowed in the roped off shallow end when accompanied by an adult in the water (1 child per adult).
E Water wings are permitted only in the roped off shallow end an only when the child is accompanied by an adult in the water. All other types of flotation devices are prohibited at all times in the main pool.
F Face masks and snorkels are prohibited for children under 16 years of age.
G Swimming in off-hours, or in the absence of a lifeguard, is not permitted.
H Diving from the side is allowed only in the 5-foot area.
I Backdives, flips, can-openers, seat drops, etc. are not permitted off the side of the pool.
J Hanging on any rope in the pool is prohibited.
K Wrestling, chicken-fights, etc. are prohibited.
L Extended prone floating is not allowed.
M Only employees, swim and dive team representatives, and current Board members are allowed in the pool office.
N Supersoakers, water guns, or other water squirting devices are not permitted, except during published designated activities.
O Diving Boards
1 Only one person will be allowed on the board at a time.
2 A person may leave the diving board only when the last diver has reached the ladder.
3 Divers must swim directly to the nearest ladder and exit the water promptly.
4 Excess bouncing prior to take-off is prohibited.
Section V - Sanitary Rules
A All infants must wear rubber pants in either pool. Rubber pants must cover diapers entirely. Any "accident" will close the pool until proper sanitary conditions return (a minimum of 20 minutes).
B Shower before entering pool area.
C Food and drink consumption is restricted to grass area. There is to be absolutely no consumption of food or drink on the deck.
D Rinse feet when entering pool from grass areas.
E Smoking is prohibited on the pool deck.
F Chewing gum is prohibited in the facility.
Section VI - Playground Equipment Safety
A Children under the age of 3 must be supervised by a person 14 years or older.
B Children over the posted height are not permitted to use the equipment.
C No food or drink is permitted in the playground area.
D Members are required to provide appropriate supervision of their children's use of the facilities.
Section VII - Community Relations, Behavior & Courtesy
A Abusive and/or profane language or gestures are prohibited.
B Loitering in or around the office, the admission gate, or the parking lot is not permitted.
C Blowing of automobile horns to summon children is not permitted.
D Members will be paged at the pool in emergency situations only.
E The public phone is to be used for all personal calls.
F Out of consideration for persons who live near the pool, members should not park on Mill Run Drive when visiting the pool. Members will conserve parking spaces and not block other parked vehicles. Members are to require their children to respect the property rights of persons who live near the pool, particularly by not taking short cuts through their yards.
Section VIII - Changes to Rules and Regulations
Suggestions and/or complaints must be made in writing to the Board of Directors. The Board will answer each suggestion. Any change in the rules will be posted on the pool bulletin board. Your suggestions are encouraged.
